Seminar at 108 Military Central Hospital: MIRARI Cold Plasma System – A New Breakthrough in Wound Care and Dermatology

Hanoi – On June 18, 2025, at the Dermatology Center – 108 Military Central Hospital, the specialized seminar “MIRARI Cold Plasma System: Antibacterial – Anti-inflammatory – Wound Healing” was successfully held, attracting numerous medical experts, hospital leaders, representatives from General Vibronics (USA), and Mirari Import-Export Joint Stock Company – the exclusive distributor of the MIRARI Cold Plasma System in Vietnam.

General Vibronics Corporation has invented and manufactured the MIRARI Cold Plasma System, distributing it in many countries worldwide, including Vietnam. The device emits cold plasma rays. The product won first place in the Wound Care Award 2017 (JWC 1st Awards – London 2017) and the Best Poster Award 2016 (Best Poster Awards – Italy 2016).

At the seminar, experts presented detailed information about the mechanism of action of the MIRARI Cold Plasma System – a non-invasive treatment technology that has been FDA clearance (USA) for its safety and efficacy. The MIRARI Cold Plasma System generates reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS), providing powerful sterilization and anti-inflammatory effects, stimulating tissue regeneration, and promoting wound healing without causing thermal damage to healthy tissue.

At the seminar, clinical reports and supporting images demonstrated the remarkable effectiveness of the MIRARI Cold Plasma System technology across various treatment fields. The device delivers positive results in treating difficult-to-heal wounds such as diabetic ulcers, burns, and post-surgical wounds; effectively supports the treatment of dermatological conditions including dermatitis, eczema, nail fungus, acne, and psoriasis. Additionally, MIRARI is applied in aesthetics for skin rejuvenation, inflammation reduction, post-aesthetic intervention recovery, and drug-free pain relief for musculoskeletal patients or post-surgical cases.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan presented an in-depth discussion on the mechanism of action, indications, and clinical benefits of cold plasma technology. According to him, the device generates reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) with strong oxidative capabilities, helping to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms, regulate cells, promote controlled proliferation-differentiation-apoptosis processes, tissue regeneration, and wound healing. Notably, the output temperature of cold plasma is always below 40°C, causing no damage to living tissue.

Associate Professor Tuan emphasized MIRARI’s outstanding effectiveness in controlling inflammation, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral properties, and even against multidrug-resistant bacteria without causing drug resistance like antibiotics. Dosage can be adjusted to achieve optimal effectiveness while preserving cells. He also mentioned that cold plasma has potential in supporting skin cancer treatment through its ability to destroy diseased tissue, support radiation and chemotherapy without affecting healthy tissue.

The MIRARI Cold Plasma System clinical indications are very diverse: from treating acute and chronic wounds, dermatological lesions, burns, skin graft donor sites, to supporting pain relief (neurological, musculoskeletal, sports), anti-aging, pigmentation improvement, and treating skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, nail fungus, itching, and hyperpigmentation.

Regarding safety, this technology has been validated through numerous preclinical studies without recording serious side effects. Unwanted effects, if any, are usually mild and transient such as redness, dry skin, itching, or temporary pigmentation changes. However, Associate Professor Tuan advised against using the device for patients with pacemakers, severely infected wounds, or allergies to contact materials.

Compared to laser, cold plasma causes less pain, requires no extended recovery time, and offers flexibility in controlling treatment depth, minimizing risks of burns, scars, or pigmentation disorders. Associate Professor Tuan stated: “Cold plasma is a safe, effective, and multi-applicable technology in modern medicine. However, we need to establish standardized protocols in Vietnam, especially in dermatology and wound treatment, ensuring proper indication deployment, multidisciplinary coordination, and close monitoring in clinical practice.”
